Scheduler crashing
« on: April 19, 2003, 04:52:57 pm »

When I set my scheduler to record TV, it crashes after starting recording with a runtime C++ error.  It seems to work getting it to start Media Center.

not the best number and normaly your system will crash from time to time due to this.

1. buy windows 2000 or windows XP
2. turn off all the extra running programs.

I'll try it at 70% percent to see if it does the same.  I had a lot running when I posted that.

Nope...even at 80% resources free it doesn't work (still get the C++ runtime error).  Because of some company related network softwate I can't upgrade to any other OS at this time.

And by the way...because of cacheman utilities and multiple drives my system is stable down to 5% resources...NOTHING crashes.  I haven't seen a bluescreen in two years.

it could be a bug, i think there are a few bugs in the TV when reading a few messages.

I am going to hook up my TV (ATI) and se what happens.

It seems to work, but it does have an error message that comes up

"Cannot Display Video To Screen While Recording".
Do You Want To Continue Recording Without SHowing The Video"?

Do You Get This Message?

(This Using The Time Shifting Recording)

the other ones do not seem to work

======================================

Not sure why this message should be displayed since ATI will record without blanking the screen using other software, and since i Have A ATI 9700 Pro I would think it is not be because i have a cheap card.

Maybe what your seeing is a bug because it does not work here for the most part.

King,

Is this your TV Wonder VE card?

You need to make sure your recording is done at 640 x 240 or lower. Also set preview at 640 x 240 or lower too.

For recording, just choose a profile that has the right video resolution (note that the default profile, "640 x 240 JRiver Codec Timeshift, WMV Recording, 29.97fps", actually records in WMV format in 640 x 480 size, so you need to choose another profile).

For preview, go to "Advanced Properties", double-click "Video Preview Pin..." and select correct video size.

Sorry guys, I was a little grumpy when I posted that.  I'll try all those suggestions and keep you posted.  I do have a ATI TV VE.

OK...it seems to work if I don't select the WMV timeshift recording.  Still drops a lot of frames, bu that may be related to my computer speed I guess.
