Dedicated folder for each TS recording
« on: October 15, 2020, 05:24:21 am »

Greatday Yaobing and MC community,

Hoping you're safe and well,

I'm sure the request and maybe even the solution as been seen before,
But is there a way to have folders build on each TV recording ?
Fyi using TS files.

Dedicated folders would be much cleaner, certainly when doing after-post things like Comskip.

Thanks for any pointers and help.

You can edit your recording rule to include a Filename (path) tag.

Please upgrade to the latest version (build 26 is available now).

4. Fixed: TV time-shifting files were not cleaned up after time-shifting session ended.

Some unrelated changes caused this unintended effect.  You will have to manually delete those unwanted folders.

Yeah I noticed after writing this in the release notes of .27. Normally I get a notice for new updates but not this time for some reason....Can this mean some of my recordings didn't fully get converted to .ts? At a quick glance it doesn't look like it but thought I'd ask...

Thx for the quick answer Yaobing.

Just so I don't totally hijack the OP..:)  Have a look at the capture2.jpg at the bottom of this post for an example (forget the needs processing part.)

I'm sure there are better examples elsewhere on Interact for what you are trying to do...

No. The JTV/JTF etc, files are part of the Time Shifting file set, which is always created even when you are recording in TS format. The JTV file set is what allows you to time-shift regardless of the format you record in. They are supposed to be cleaned up once the recording is done and playback of the channel is stopped.

If my memory serves, the JTV file set and the TS files are created in parallel. i.e. TS files aren't created from the JTV file set, but are written to disk separately.

All good and loving the structured folders I'm getting now:-)

Thanks to both of you for the great help,

Take care and stay safe !
