Should I/do I need to upgrade to MC27
« on: November 04, 2020, 02:10:01 pm »

I've been using MC24 on the same PC since MC24 released (I've previously used MC23 and MC22).

The PC I have been using is now about 6 1/2-ish years old. I've never had any issues using MC24 on it.

I just ordered a new, high-end, powerful PC to replace the old one.

I guess my question is: should I upgrade to MC27 for the new PC? Am I not getting the most out of MC by using MC24 version instead of the current version (MC27) with this new PC?

It's not the spending of the money that is the issue for me. I can afford the current upgrade price. I just dislike spending money on something I don't really need. I also have a robust home network, where essentially all our movies, tv eps, music, etc. is centrally located so all devices can access.

Here's the specs on the new PC:
Asus X570-Pro AMD motherboard
AMD Ryzen™ 9 3900XT Processor
128GB Crucial Ballistix 3200mhz of ram
8GB EVGA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super Gaming GDDR6 video card
video card connected to monitor via an HDMI v2.2 cable
BenQ EW3270U 4k HDR monitor (32", 3840x2160, 60hz, pixel type: VA)

I welcome anyone's thoughts/ideas etc on this.

Thanks!

When you get the PC up and running, just download MC27 and use it in its free trial for 30 days to see if you like it.

That's an excellent idea that never occured to me. That's exactly what I will do.

Thanks!
