IPOD invisible songs
« on: April 11, 2003, 12:26:18 pm »

I have MJ 9 and working with the latest Ipod plug-in, as well as running Windows ME. I used music match for all my music transferring.

Here's my problem: After reformatting my Ipod for MJ, I would transfer songs over to the Ipod, only to find that only about half the artists would show up. After experiencing this I would rebuild my database and discover that the rest of the artists would appear, but, some would show up 6 or 7 times, as well as some albums appearing multiple times. All this appears on the Ipod but not in MJ.  :-/ Also, when I try to delete the artists from the Ipod from MJ, each song would display a message of "File Deletion Error."

I've completed this pattern of reformatting and rebuilding the database a number of times but am getting the same thing....pleeeeeeeease help.

ds,

Do you have MC 9.0.147? If not, please get it. If you are still stuck, try reformatting your iPod either using the iPod Updater or from within Windows. You will lose all your data, but hopefully you will then be all set.

Something to try:

You may need to consider running the iPod software updater program and doing a "restore" on your iPod.

That is, restore it via the software from Apple, rather than using MC9's "format iPod" function.  This will completely wipe the hard drive, delete all of the setup files that are existing on the iPod and left-over from MMJB, and re-install the iPod's operating system.

Do that, then fire up MC and "format iPod" from within MC9 (it'll only take a second or two).  After that, your problems may go away.

Something else to try:

Uninstall the MMJB remote plugin and MMJB itself (in that order) from your computer.  :D

:D

Here's a link to .148:

ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaCenter90148.exe

It's in the thread above that says "Media Center 9.0.148 Available Here"
