What's the trick to get the 'list' type to work?
« on: April 05, 2003, 07:50:29 am »

Hmmm.  I must be missing something...

Doof reported in the 141 bug thread that all he was seeing in the dropdown list for database fields using the new list data type was the semicolon delimited string itself: "test1;test2;test3".    That's all I'm seeing.   I tried it with spaces and without, with leading and trailing semicolons and without, etc.

Some of you seem to have gotten it to work.  Was there a trick?

Also, if I try to go back and edit the field definition, the string is missing.

All you will see is a list of values in the right-view and properties window.

They get broken apart when you use them in a view scheme or do a search.

A special data entry system for lists will have to wait for 10.

Thanks!

Matt,

I'm ready to beta test 10! :)

Will it...
(1) Support CDDB?
(2) Ask me which songs I would like to hear next? (as in built-in voice control)
(3) If not (2) then will it have built in A.I. or fuzzy logic so that it can guess what I want to hear next?
(4) Have that coffee maker control everyone's talking about?
(5) Have a Alarm Clock control that can energize a 10,000 volt transformer for mornings when only shock therapy can wake you up?

That's it for now

10-27
