Update to original question

Realised that I needed to be clearer with my question.
Currently running MC v27.0.85 on Windows 64bit and I use my Android Galaxy TAB A (2016) as a remote controller.
This device is no longer supported and therefore cannot be updated beyond v5.1.1.
As yet, does anyone know if this device will still work with the new v28 of MC?
Thanks

Well, the version of Media Center actually doesn't matter. Are you using Panel in a web browser or are you using Gizmo, JRemote or JRemote2? If the former, it should be fine. If Gizmo and the original JRemote it *should* work fine now. JRemote2 on the other hand may require a newer Android to run on, not sure.

Basically, if you can use Panel, Gizmo or JRemote on your Galaxy Tab right now and it works fine, it'll work fine for MC28.

Hi, thank you for your reply.
Not sure what Panel is?
I have MC installed on my pc and I have an Cambridge Audio CXN v2 streamer connected via ethernet out in the lounge. That way I can also play my DSD files.
I did install Gizmo initially but it became a bit clunky after one of the CXN's updates.
I wanted to try the JRemote but as there was no free trial, like MC has, the reviews I read were not all in the positive, I didn't want to chance it would not work with the CXN.
So I have Cambridge Audio's Stream Magic installed on my tablet, have my pc on when I want to listen on my main system.
I also use MC directly as a player through my pc speakers when I am in my office, I can't play the DSD files but I have duplicates in flac of most albums.
It is a bit of a juggle between, streamer updates and the two independent software updates.
Cheers
