MC28.105 Crashes often after long "stop"
« on: February 08, 2022, 12:13:16 am »

Hello,
I have to report that current MC28.105 crashes often after a long stop of 1h+ when I restart (by the play button) the play of the last playlist there.
What happens is that MC28 freeze (not anymore any response from the interface) and after a couple of minutes it crashes.
Windows OS reports the message "Informing Microsoft about the crash....".
After that I am able to re-run MC28 and use it as expectable, even if I am not really sure the previous status is fully restored (I do not remember exactly at which point of the playlist it was before the crash).

I also noticed few crashes during long (more than 100 tracks) playlist execution when MC28 is going to play a new track (the previous track was anytime well completed).

I think this kind of crash has some connection with the HDDs in deep sleep mode. My library is all on external USB HDDs that I put in sleep mode after 20 minutes of inactivity.
I noticed that the effective wakeup process may take even up to 30 seconds (I measured it when I was using Foobar2000).

Regards, Andrea

If you have a crash dump would you submit it? Help->Logging->Report problem.
Thanks.

Hello @Bob,
The last crash I had yesterday or so... can I do that "crash dump" now?
Or shall have I to do that just at the following MC28 run after a crash?

Regards, Andrea

I believe you need to do it at the run following a crash.
