Upside-down TV
« on: March 21, 2003, 08:48:55 am »

For the past few builds the TV module has been showing images upside down.

Can anyone shed any light as to what is going on?

It used to work just fine  ::)

Here's where I reported it before:

Sorry, I have not been able to reproduce that behavior. I do not know what may have caused it. In terms of displaying TV, there had not been much change in my coding at all.

You haven't got ffdshow installed on the system? It has an option to turn the picture upside down (flip, or whatever it's called). If that's accidentally ticked, it may be the cause.  8)

Something must have changed as it used to work.

No I haven't got it installed  and as I pointed out when I reported it before other software works ... so it's an MC bug.

And as another test I downloaded a few more apps from here:

http://www.tv-cards.com/apps.php

And they work fine too.

So where do we go from here?

I can confirm the problem (Upside down picture and only half of the fields displayed)...

I just put my first BT8*8 card in this machine. Picture works great with D-Scaler but not with MC9.0.

Another, potentially related, issue is that I have no picture unless I enable the time-shifting mode (which removes close captions...). Sound works ok, which is a good thing.

Dunow if this is related, but when I go into advanced options, it says that no deinterlacing module can be found (the related options are grayed out)

What TV cards do you use? What driver versions?

Do you remember when was the last time (which version of MC) it worked?

Have you tried settings on Advanced Properties page on TV configuration? In particular, double-click "Video Preview Pin ...", and try different Color Space setting, starting with the top of the list. Also try setting the vidoe resolution there, starting with some lower values such as 320x240.

Have you tried deleting the TV settings registry key and start all over? The registry key is at

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Jukebox\TV Settings

If you need to save some custom settings such as your recording profiles, you can rename the key instead of deleting it.

I deleted the registry key and the problem still remained.

I changed the "Color Space/Compression" from "YUV2" to "RGB 32" and it worked!

I changed it back to "YUV2" and it still works  :-/

Looks like we'll never got to the bottom of this one.

You were saying it worked here. So the problem is solved?

If not, what TV card do you use? What version of driver?
