I am in "Recently Imported" with 3 complete albums worth of songs displayed.
I'd like to select ONE file per album, as if I'd ctrl-clicked one song from each album.
However, I'd like to do this with the /MCC command line.
Is this possible?

Or perhaps a way to remove all but 1 song per album from "Recently Imported" list?

I couldn't find detailed documentation on the media core command 33004 MCC_SELECT_FILES to see how that might be applicable.

What are you trying to do with these single songs from each album?

With current manual process, I use the "send to external" to run them through an album art finder if MC's art finder doesn't find 3000x3000 or larger.
I want to have a macro button do all of that selecting and right clicking and selecting the menu option for me.


A command to remove all except tracks #1 from the recently imported list would also accomplish the task, since then I could select all and not be sending dupes to the cover art utility.

I think a smartlist or my favorite, a view, would accomplish this nicely.

In fact, I think my cover art review, with just a filter on track number would do it.

I just added two columns to my cover art review:  Date Imported, broken out by date ranges.  Track #.  Attached is a screen shot showing my having selected the last few albums I imported, by selecting import dates listed, and then pressing the "track 1" selection in the next column.

Note that this view is really designed to show art that does not meet your minimum criteria:  It's too small, isn't embedded in the file, etc.  These new columns just add some sorting and selecting to narrow it down even more for you so you can export those to your cover art finder.

I should be able to work that up.
Rather than stay in the recently imported list, I can have it switch to the view with tracks #1 imported today.
select all
then macro the menu path to send external.
I'll create the view with appropriate filter and then knock out the macro.
