I am running MC 28.0.49 (64-bit)
I tried to playback a UHD 2160p/60 MP4 AVC (part 10) (avc1) video from a Sony FX3.
This records 4-channel audio (24-bit 48Ksample/sec, I believe).
Media Center won't play the video at all, and provides a not-so-informative error message.
SO, I tried to play the video on VLC. That plays the video, but not the audio.
BUT, it reports the useful error message:
Codec not supported:
VLC could not decode the format "ipcm" (No description for this codec)
VLC will allow me to view the Codec info, and it reports audio is "ipcm" 4 channels each at 24bit 48K samples/sec.
When I tried to play it on Media Center, it will not play AT ALL.
I received the error message at the bottom below (with no further details).
Can MC add support for IPCM at some point? (assuming that is the cause of the error)
(And maybe MC should provide more details in error messages, so we wouldn't have to rely on VLC for debugging? We are paying real money for MC.)
*** ERROR MESSAGE SEEN IN Media Center ***
Something went wrong with playback.
Details:
Failed to connect Audio decoder to source / splitter.
