Bitstream new option - contains ATMOS
« on: March 10, 2022, 05:37:17 pm »

This would be very useful. The only moment I would actually need to use bitstream is when the source contain audio track with ATMOS.

This is a long standing request (along with the MC Properties showing ATMOS exists for certain tracks).  Unfortunately the core library (ffmpeg) that is used to get the info is unable to detect ATMOS / DTS-X etc.

I'm presuming you want to Bitstream anything with ATMOS (or DTS-X) but decode the audio when they are not present.
- In the 3rd party tools section, you will see a 3rd party util I wrote called Swag of Tools (SOT), that will update the compression field with ATMOS / DTS-X (it uses Media Info instead of ffmpeg).
- You can then use MC's Zone Switch to change to a Zone (Say called ATMOS) where you have all the current Dolby, and DTS checked.
- MC will then bitstream the track, sending ATMOS to the AVR.  Your "normal" zone will then decode "normal" Dolby / DTS without the ATMOS/DTS-X extensions.

Thank you, although manually, I already do that when I want atmos.

I would very much prefer this being built natively, we just need more people asking for it..
