Massive tagging can take a long time (hours in some cases) so it is very annoying that MC doesn't refresh the progress windows after to loss a focus.

You stay in front of your PC with absolutely no idea how many time that will take to finish. Many users could think that MC hanged and would kill it (I did that once).

Additionnaly, I don't understand why there is not a 'cancel' button.

I agree.
It gives MJ a lack of refinement appearance when it sits there looking like it's crashing instead of just displaying a clear screen.

Also - it should say what it's doing.

Just had one of those SCARY messages again saying 4570 tags are being changed with no info on which tags or why.

THIS IS SERIOUSLY SCARY!!
I'd like to have some way of knowing what it's changing.

In this case I think it was from Chart Finder but I could be wrong and I have no way of knowing. I either presume it was from chart finder and leave it possibly leaving 4570 songs tags messed up or I say it wasn't and undo whatever it was - possibly undoing all the work chart finder did.

For once,    I completely agree with you on this matter. It seems like tagging in MC vs. MJ is different. Whether perceived, or actual, I do not know. There is something spooky about the way MC handles tagging. And while I have turned on the tagging options again, I'm still very leary of what it is doing. Still in the process of re-ripping my entire collection, I do not want to find out later that it shanked me in some way.

While I'm sure that it is doing everything properly, there is this hint of the unknown with MC that makes me second guess my actions as far as tagging is concerned. Maybe it is some sort of paranoia about lack of control.  :-/
