A Slow Week at JRiver
« on: November 20, 2022, 06:32:53 pm »

We're headed toward a Thanksgiving stuffing on Thursday, so JRiver is closed on Thursday and Friday.

Hendrik is headed to Denmark for a couple weeks.  Matt will probably be in Waseca with his dad.  Roger used to run a pea packing plant there.  He can make anything or fix it if it's broken.

I'm driving to Woodstock, NY to be with my daughter for Thanksgiving.  I hope to be in Manhattan on Friday to see some museums.  Alex Katz at the Guggenheim.  Maine the following week.

I'm driving an electric car.  If I get stuck, I'll post here.  I'm looking forward to hitting the open road again.

All this is to say, don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

I bought Bob Woodward's "Trump Tapes" to listen to on the drive.  Looking forward to the real deal.

700 miles today.  Three charging sessions, each a little less clumsy than the previous.

Electrify America is a great network of Fast Chargers.  They have a partnership with Wallmart and they're owned by VW.  My charges took about 45 minutes on average, including me trying to figure out how it worked.

Charging at 7:00 AM at 25 degrees F, with a 15 MPH wind is no fun if you don't know how to use the charger.

Jim, if you’re driving to Maine from NYC, you’ll be passing close by. Maybe you could stop briefly for a cup of coffee. Let me know and I can provide directions.

Alan,
Thanks for the invitation.  I answered by email.  I'll try.  It would be great to meet.

I'm writing a little about the EV charging network here:

Happily, I met Zootsuit in Manchester NH.  I'll post a few pictures later.
