handheld duplicate names
« on: February 09, 2023, 10:09:13 am »

I have flashed custom ROM's on my phone, which causes MC to not recognize the device as the device it was previously.

When I connect it as a handheld, it grabs the default phone name and appends a (#) to the end.

If I rename it to a more friendly name, it will also append a (#) to the end if I'd renamed another version to that same name.

It's not a big deal, but how/where do i find this hidden list of previously used names so I can delete old handhelds I can never use again, so I stop getting the (#) appended to the name?

I'm still hoping to resolve this.

Try searching for your device name in the registry using Regedit at
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\JRiver\Media Center 30\Portable Devices\Detected Devices
then delete that entry.
