6 channel error when set to 2.1?
« on: September 09, 2023, 03:32:45 pm »

For some reason when I set DSP Output to 2.1 Channels (in order to get sub woofer output) I get an error when playing 2 channel FLAC or MP3 saying that my DAC does not support 6 Channels (Which it does not).  For some reason 2 Channel DSD works fine (Maybe because it is bitstreamed?), But I don't see why that should be relevant when I have it set to 2.1 Channels, Not 6-Channels.

When I set it to 2 Channels it works fine but I do not get any output to my sub?

is the .1 in 2.1 not the Sub channel?

Here are some screen shots:

Error message:

DSP Settings:

Any help on what I am doing wrong much appreciated.

It's how 2.1 is implemented, more discussion in https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,136944.0.html
