Tags not saved as a separate list

OK, it's probably stupid, but I don't understand why if I set a custom tag like data type list and edit type list, MC doesn't save multiple values, creating a separate tag for each value entered, but saves all the values in a single tag separated by semicolons as if it were a string. This does not happen with default tags (with the same characteristics)

Where am I wrong?
