Burning in multi-user WindowsXP
« on: December 17, 2002, 03:53:19 am »

Just noticed:

Burning works in my user-profile (Admin), but in profile of my sister (user) it does not.

I remember that in the past Nero & other burning-tools didn't work under restricted users in 2k/XP, but now they do, so their burning routine was adpated.

I guess that the one from MJ/MC still needs this improvement, hope you guys can fix this.

Thanks
Raist

P.S. New beta before X-mas? If not, I wish you merry christmas!

Not a single line after almost a month??

Or did I miss another posting that this is already fixed.

If so, I apologize.

Thanks

I don't know, but have you tried the latest build?

When you post a problem, please provide your system info from MC Help.

I can confirm that it is still a problem, it's not just Raistlin2000. I made sure that my local security settings allowed both administrators and interactive users under the "devices: allowed to format and eject removable media" policy. Made sure that registry section for JRiver was editable by all users.

After logging in as a non-administrative user, the registry entry that describes the burner disappears (in my case HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JRiver\Media Jukebox\CD Writer\F: HP       CD-Writer+ 8100 ), and after clicking the "Burn CD" button the following error message pops up:" Failed to find any CD-R/W devices on your system"  The registry entry reappears after I log back in as an administrator and run the program again.

I have confirmed that I am able to burn cd's under the non-administrative account when not using MC. And cd burning can be accomplished by this user if I make them an admin (which I don't wish to do).

This is a known limitation and we are working on a solution. Thanks for the reports.
