So what next?
« on: February 09, 2003, 08:20:39 am »

As the final release approaches, I wonder what the J River team will work on next? Over the past few months, they have been releasing countless new builds, often several the same day! When they stop the beta, the program will be near perfect, and they will have very little to do! Will we see a new jukebox take shape, in addition to MJ and MC? a totally different program? Improving the existing ones? (hah)

Also, were there really MJ 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 versions?

Does this mean I should wait for a new media jukebox instead of moving to media center if I am only interested in the music features of mj8.

We haven't made any decisions about what we'll do next after MC is released.

Please try to understand that we have a small team (9 people in development), that market conditions are moving very quickly, and that we don't make plans for more than about 4 weeks out.

We've said that we expect to update MJ, but I can't say how quickly that will happen.

9 people in development

whith good salerys i am sure.

And other people part of the staff.

Sometimes we may not estimate [?] it ,but you need to sell  a lot of jukeboxs everyday.

Kola Khavod and good luck

After MC is out,
How about doing a bit of time just purely getting everyone to throw out wishlist idea's and working through those.
Like start a forum for wishlist idea's, each idea in a new thread and get people to say how relivant it would be to them. Then just basically start working through the treads adding the features.

MJ has the core features but it's the little things that make people really love programs and if you could get everyone's 'little things' into it then you'll really make EVERYONE fall in love with it and give it that killer winning edge over the other packages out there.

I know loads of people have loads of little things they'd like in MC and obviously while your working on main core changes it's not practical to work on them but after the core is done then little bits of tinkering could be done.

For v9.1 for instance - step by  step wizards could be added - I know for me, you and the majority of users on this board they'd be useless but the majority of users on this board are quite computer literate and aren't the first time users of MJ who will start using it and get lost.
Tips of the Day could be added too - I never user them personally but know a lot of people I set machines up for who are first time users do - they'd find them really useful in MJ as I always install the demo of MJ for people when I set up a machine.

Another thing that could easily be used if you go for Nila's idea is to actually implement a poll (YABB has it as a plugin I believe) so instead of seeing a lot of shouting from me and Nila, you actually see how many persons that wants a suggested feature...:)

All you wanted to know about the glorious history of a little application called Media Jukebox. Read and be amazed.

This is SO cool, y'all should put screenshots of each program up so we can see the changes too.

(In your copious spare time. ::)  )

I like the idea of a wishlist forum. You can't really discuss much in the current form. Even typing it out is somewhat of a mess (1 line).

This way, you can have discussions on proposed features and keep track of them all. Polling would be another added bonus.

MC110. Is that the correct new math?
