Does Cut/Paste work with tag data?
« on: April 21, 2024, 11:01:52 pm »

Is it possible to use cut/paste functions to edit tag data?

I am trying to correct some out of sync data by moving it from one file to another. I can use F2 to edit the entry manually but when I use the Edit menu, the entry is deselected so I cannot paste into that field. Some of the information is long episode descriptions so pasting is much easier than retyping.

You can copy from one file to another by using ctrl-c and ctrl-shift-v

Thanks. I should have noticed that option right below Paste in the Menu  :P

I also tried pasting episode summaries from Chrome into the Description field of MC and that does not seem to work.

You can also use Library Tools > Move/Copy Field , you define which file or files then select the tool and select the From Tag and the To Tag it's simpler than it sounds

It also allows you to bulk copies , by selecting a set of tags eg an album all at once
