How do I play DVD files?
« on: June 12, 2024, 11:34:18 am »

I am able to play all other media and file types but when I try to play vob files over the network to my TV using the JRiver remote I get a message on the TV "the current file is not currently supported". If I try to play over the network on my PC by selecting the JRiver dnla I am able to play the file. Is there anything I can do to fix this without converting the file?

Have you got Bitstreaming turned on (Tools > Options > Audio > Settings)? If so, try setting that to NONE.

With bitstreaming off, MC decodes all audio files and you thus avoid issues caused by your TV not having the right codecs.

Thanks for your reply, sorry I didn't see it before as I am not getting notification of replies for some reason. I had it set to DSD and have now changed it but it didn't solve this.

Are you getting a new error message or are you still getting the "current file is not currently supported" error on your TV?

Can you play this VOB file on your computer via JRiver Media Center?
