double-clicking on the tree
« on: February 02, 2003, 02:38:24 pm »

Ever since v9, when you double click on lets say "Playlists", it starts playing the songs. Same with Media Library, Audio, Video, Artists...

Does anyone actually use this? It will 99% of the time start the exact same song over and over. I'm used to seeing it open like in explorer. I know it's this way in v8 but why the change?

The only reason I would use it is for the artist name in the tree or album name or something like that. Not the actual grouping.

Anyone agree, disagree, or doesn't care one way or the other? This has been bugging me since it came out.

there are settings for what happens when you dbl click on something.

I just played with it, if you set it to properties it does not play anything when you dbl click on play lists.

I think what happens MJ just plays everything it can when you do this.

it may be a bug, not sure if they intended it to work this way. don't sound right to me.

It was intended to allow a quick way to run the double-click action.

Do many people use double-click to expand the tree?  I either use "auto-expand" or the plus sign.

Let us know.

So do I. But then, I also have Windows set to "single-click" mode... so I pretty much never double-click on things. If I was still a double-clicker though... I could see how this behavior would be habitual, and expected.

Now isn't this just typical of whereever this is?

Double clicking to expand is all i used to use, but ever since the change ive gotten used to using the plus sign....but id like to be able to go back to using the double click to expand......personally, i was quite content with the double click behaviour in MJ8, i didnt see the need for another oter double click actions.
