Moved Music Data from Internal Drive to External Drive
« on: October 01, 2024, 07:57:09 am »

I recently update Mac mini and moved Music source files to an external drive. What's the best way to preserve my playlists?

At present, I did a symbolic link to the old location which was the desktop. ln -s /volumes/T7*/Music ./Desktop/.
T7 is the external drive and "Music" directory is stored here. The

Any suggestions on the proper way that I should transition to the external drive and maintain my existing playlists?

Thanks for any suggestions.

You can use F6 to update the path to your media. Be careful to select the correct options, it can be a bit confusing, but it works. I have done this as well. Alternatively, you can use the mobile library option which is also not exactly straight forward but all is explained in the wiki.
