I frequently work with multiple smart playlists and would like an easier way to apply changes to their views all at once. Specifically, I’d like to be able to apply a column preset, sort order, or list style across multiple playlists simultaneously.
Here are a few suggestions to address this:
1. Trickle-Down Effect in Playlist Groups- Modifying the view settings (columns, sort order, list style) of a Playlist Group could automatically apply those changes to all playlists within the group—unless individual playlists are locked to preserve their unique settings.
2. Multi-Select and Apply Changes- Allow users to select multiple playlists and apply changes via the menu dropdown. For example, selecting several playlists and choosing a column preset or sort order would update all selected playlists at once.
3. Shortcut or Macro Support- If the above options are not feasible, a keyboard shortcut or MCC command to open the active tabs menu dropdown would help. This would allow me to create a keyboard macro for quickly applying presets to individual playlists. More details on the Shortcut/Hotkey are available in an earlier post I made: Request: Hotkey or Media Core Command to Access the Active Tabs Menu
4. Enhancements to JRiver Smartlist XML Export- Currently, the JRiver Smartlist XML does not capture column presets. If the "Export All Playlists" feature included the JRiver Smartlist XML format with column preset details, it would enable batch editing of playlist views using a text editor.
Thank you for the consideration!
