Closed captions display only partial sentence, followed by...
« on: January 11, 2025, 09:54:46 am »

Subtitles work fine for video files, but closed captions for live TV are displayed incompletely; a partial sentence will be displayed, followed by an ellipsis.  This occurs regardless of the channel selected.

If the TV show is processed with Handbrake, the resulting subtitles are complete, demonstrating that the entire live TV closed caption data is present, just not presented on the screen in its entirety.  It occurs whether the recording format is .ts, .jtv, or .wtv.  It is not closed captioning size related; I reduced the size to 50% with no change.

I am currently using Media Center 33.0.55.
Tuner devices are Silicondust HDHomeRun Connect.  I am located in the U.S.
Windows 11 23H2 in on one of my computers, 24H2 on another.
The first computer is a Ryzen 9 5850x on Asus TUF gaming X570 Plus WiFi motherboard with an RTX-4070 gpu.  The second is a Beelink EQR6 with Ryzen 5 6600H cpu and onboard graphics.

I'd appreciate any help that could be given.

Thanks for reporting this. I can reproduce this issue with some channels.

The issue has been fixed and the fix will be in an upcoming new build of MC.
