Bizet
« on: December 26, 2002, 03:07:06 pm »

I ripped a few more CD's today.  Among them was Carmen by Bizet.  Three full CD's for one opera.

Out of curiosity, I looked him up.  Amazingly, he lived to be only 37.

I should have written two operas by now.

Hi Jim

I've seen Alan Price (ex Animals) live in concert a few times over the last few years. His show always included an up-tempo/rock version of 'Beat out that rhythym on a drum' and it was one hell of an experience. I don't know if he's ever recorded it but it might be something to look out for.

Hope you and your family had a good xmas and I'd like to wish you a happy and prosperous new year.

from a warm and blue-skied Peterborough, England

Carmen is my first concert.
Outdoor in 'Le Jardin Public' in Bordeaux.
My mother took me there .
Not sure but must be around  6 years old at this time.
Latter when in hight school ,one of the pupils  and good friend of mine was the son of the director of the   cultural section for the town of Bordeaux.
I saw tons of plays , concerts, operas for free.
And many many times Carmen.
To this day i am still in love with Carmen.
I saw it around 50  times -really-
