Less Granularity in Media Center 9 MP3 Settings
« on: December 13, 2002, 07:08:52 am »

I downloaded Media Center 9 this morning and I was disappointed when I looked at the MP3 Encoder Settings.  In previous version there were more encoding options.

Mono, Stereo, Joint Stereo, Dual Stereo
kbps as low as 16kbps.

Where have all the options gone?  I rip a lot of audio books from CD and Tape to use in my RIO500.

Read HERE.

MC 9 has all the same settings as MJ 8...you just have to know where to get at them.  To do what you are asking, you still have to use Custom Command-line (same as MJ 8).

I may be thinking of version 7.  If I remember correctly the setting were a part of the GoGo encoder and I don't think MJ had a plugin for 8 now that I think about it.  I did setup Lame.exe as an external encoder.  The only problem I am having now is the settings for the External Encoder seam to disappear all the time.  Is this a bug or a feature? ;)
