GUI/Keys - Stupid mistakes I made
« on: November 10, 2002, 09:54:41 am »

Two issues/questions I came up against today (MJ9.0.72):

1. When typing a search entry in the search bar in Media Library to try and add tracks to my current Playing Now I accidentally pressed return which cleared playing now and replaced it with the search results. I know I shouldnt do this but it was instinct. Perhaps the enter key behaviour should equate to the doubleclick behaviour you can set in the options.

2. Undo. I also accidentally deleted some files from the library because I hadnt realised I was in that and not Playing Now.  Question: Undo seems to be always available, but it doesnt tell you what you are undoing in the menu itself or anywhere else that I can find. Does MJ have multiple undo levels like MS Office? If so can we also have undo as a drop down toolbar button like Office? Or else can it be disabled once youve undone the last operation. It wasnt clear to me whether I was undoing something non-destructive like moving files to a playlist or a destructive act like my accidental deletion of files from the library.

I do the "enter key" thing all the time.  >:(  It would be nice if the enter key in the search bar just committed the search.   In fact, I'd prefer if you HAVE to press enter to commit the search.  The search continually refreshing as you're typing the criteria is a little annoying at times.
