Bug?!
« on: October 31, 2002, 02:20:08 am »

Somewhere between preview X and XIII, MJ has managed to get duplicate entries of files into the database. For example, there will be two entries for a particular song and both point to EXACTLY the same file.

I did quite a bit of moving and renaming with an earlier version (X or XI -- don't remember) and imagine that this is where the bug crept in. Short of re-importing my entire DB, how can I remove duplicate entries?

Can you build in some sort of DB integrity checker? I think that if problems such as these are going to manifest themselves regularly, that would be vital.

It's also difficult to say why certain files have been duplicated -- certainly haven't noticed any patterns.

Much appreciated!

Hi Phydeaux.

MJ 9 is still in preview mode and unfortunately, it still goofs up sometimes.  However, it won't be released until it's rock solid.

About the duplicates, I'm not sure.  You may have to re-import.

Sorry for the hassles.  And please let us know if you can find what causes the duplicates to get created.
