Request: Save CD labeler default fonts and layout
« on: October 24, 2002, 09:16:36 pm »

I picked up some Neato Slimline inserts for the first time.  I had never used MJ's CD labeler before, but boy was I surprised to see support for them (either top or bottom)!  They work very well, but the only problem I see is that the spine text is upside down by default!  It should be 270 degrees, since that is the way it is on a normal CD.
As far as my request goes, it sure would be a big timesaver if I could choose a default font, and default layout.  .e.g. I like "Artist - Title".  I am also very anal about how the track list appears.  I would like to see control over how it is displayed.  (The way Nero does it is great).  If I have a CD full of Laura Branigan songs, then why do I want to see "by Laura Branigan" behind each one?  I hope to see these improvements in future versions.  Thanks.

I Second (again!) the ability to save templates in the CD labeler and then apply them to an existing album.  Even copy and paste would make things easier!!

As for removing the "By Artist", you can do this.  Go into one of the menus (can't tell you which as I am at work) and select go back to wizard.  In the wizard options there is a check box to remove the artist in track details.  Just remove the check and bingo!

J River guys: Surely this should default to off as most CDs are going to be a single artist and therefore unnecessary to have this option on??

Why would most CD's be by a single artist?

I never burn single artist CD's.

Besides, that could fall under the saving template's banner couldn't it? :)

I suppose that all depends on what kind of CDs you burn.  I do not burn compilation CDs, I only burn single artist CDs (usually ones I have recorded myself)  I thought this would be the norm especially if people were burning CDs of MP3's that have been (hush, hush) downloaded...

90% of the discs I burn are one or two disc "anthologies".  I am reducing my once-massive CD collection.
