From today's NYTimes - movie studios using new technology to lock down product and prevent copying.

The problem of course is that the Digital Millenium Copyright Act completely unbalances the relationship between consumer and reseller by assuming that consumer fair use does not extend to making copies of purchased material for purely personal use.  Too bad the industry can't devote some of its creative energy to developing technology that protects its legitimate rights without infringing on ours.
