Hairstyle and Playing Now
« on: October 14, 2003, 11:44:04 am »

Is there a way to have the currently playing track highlighted on the Playing Now list in Hairstyle?
The default behaviour seems to be that the highlight does not move off the song you started playing on.

All help appreciated, Thomas.

Let's make it simple: answer is no.
The only way so far to see the currently playing track in hs is to have a pip with a visualization or track info that display the info.

If anyone is aware of some other way to do this, please let us know.

Yup been, looking for this feature too.

Or is there a way to pass the current track info to girder so i can display it on an OSD plugin?

Yes this is VERY doable... and works reliably.

It will require the DVDSpy plugin, and some OSD plugin of your choosing (or the default OSD command)

could you please provide some rough guidelines on how we should go about it  ::)?

That's a great question...  but I think it'd be hard to do.  DVDSpy intercepts windows messages that MC uses to update its own displays.  If anyone knows the answer to this, I'd be very interested.

Question:  Any reason you don't use Rhino's PlayingNow plugin?  It's a lot less hassle to setup and the eye-candy is way better than OSD.  I've found that I don't use DVDSpy since PlayingNow hit the street.

Here's the link, buddies. You can set up a new skin  at full screen or just use the default to show current file info (whichever info you want).

Take care

Head to http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?board=5 - and you'll see that these days there is always a Playing Now thread in one of the first five slots.

Give it a shot - I don't think you'll be disappointed!  Heck, I'd even be willing to bet a case of beer, if you're interested.  :-)
