This may be something unique to me but normally I never mess with the tags on my MP3s once they're there (due to me keeping SFV files).  Because I don't want MC changing them when I update the MP3s in the library, I have it turned off in the Options.  However, sometimes, such as with brand new rips, I want to edit the tags before I create the SFV file.  Right now, I have to go into Options, enable Update Tag Info, do what I need to do, then remember to disable it before I accidentally mess up any of my other MP3s.

Now, there is a right-click option to Update Tags From Library which seems like would it would override the settings in Options but it doesn't.  A screen comes telling me I have to go into Options to enable this function.  

Is it possible to have the choice to override (with possibly a tick mark to make the override permanent) this via that right-click menu?  It's not that huge of a deal but it'd certainly make my MC-centered life a step easier.  Kind of an automatic update vs. manual update of tags from library?

If all it does is complain that something isn't turned on, maybe it should just do it and be done with it. Lots of ppl would probably not know what to do in this case.

At least it tells you that something isn't turned on but it should either give an option (on the dialog) to turn it on/off or a choice to update tags (yes, no).

I do agree with you on this. Sometimes I wouldn't want MC to tag anything but when I'm in the process in making new tags, this would be something I would want to have happen.

This would make life easier for me too - I need to maintain checksums for some other programs as well, that are also very picky about tag changes.
