Off Topic connecting boombox to car
« on: December 19, 2002, 11:22:36 am »

My sony zs-x3cp boombox does a great job playing mp3 disks. I set it in the back seat of my car and get 10 hours of my kind of music. Unfortunately the 6 d-cell batteries don't last long. The ac adapter says 9 volt .9 amp output. Any of you electronic experts know how to connect it to a car battery?

You could pick up a DC to AC inverter and use the AC adapter. I have no idea what they cost. Radio Shack may have something that can clamp the DC voltage and amperage down to what you need.

why not just pickup a adapter for 12volt dc to 9volt dc they have them and just plug it in the lighter.

That's what I will do when I can find one. Hope Radio Shack carries them.
