Invalid package file, cannot continue...
« on: October 29, 2003, 05:27:27 pm »

I am running build .269.  Whenever I click a mjp link via my browser to install a package, I get the error "Invalid package file. Cannot continue"  and then another Information popup showing a path to a temp folder where I guess the mjp file I was trying to download to.      If I download the files to my HD and then try to install locally, everything works fine.
Does anyone know what I can do to enable direct installs to work??

Thanks,
Lee

Well, if you open up an mjp file in a text editor, you'll see the "real" file lives out in cyberspace.  So maybe you have a firewall that is blocking this?

I do have a firewall, but I install apps all the time that go to the internet to get the actual install files.   I also have no trouble when I choose the "open and run" option when downloading other install apps.

It looks like the direct install gets the mjp file into the windows temp folder, but after that is when the install breaks down --   perhaps something funky because I never uninstalled mj8 when i installed mj9?
