Another lockup/hang scenario
« on: November 09, 2003, 04:02:13 am »

Another common hang scenario that I've been running across recently is the following:

I open MC on Windows XP computer connected via UNC path over my local area network at home.
I leave it running.
I go away for a while (a few hours).
When I come back, most of the time, my system is slowed to a crawl.  It took over 9 minutes just for my system to let me log back in this evening.
When I finally get back in (and everything is moving at a snail's pace), I see that the only program running is MC but it is "not responding".
I "end task" and my system goes back to normal and now I can re-open MC and use it again.
Any ideas what is causing this?  Perhaps it is losing connection over the network momentarily, but I would hope that it wouldn't react so poorly.
