MEDIA CENTER PLUS 9.1.291 BUGGY?
« on: November 08, 2003, 05:56:56 am »

I use Windows 2000 SR 4 in Japanese and have not had trouble at all till I upgraded to 9.1.291.  Two problems I can identify for sure are:

1. Library condition: I have copied my CD library to computer so have something like 4000 plus files. After the upgrade I backed up my library and updated tags.

Problem: After the update making changes to tags became extremely time consuming as each individual change requires a long wait for the database to update. Previously it was very easy and quick to change an entire list.

2. Download Manager problem. Yesterday, just before upgrading I discovered  could start the manager, log into MP3.Com, select a genre to listen to, click on the icon to listen to all titles and download everything. Cool! Well, no more. After upgrading the process leads to a crash everytime a file is saved to disk.

I started the upgrade while download manager was working and let the install process shut it down. Could that have caused problems?

Thank you very much

Rebooting did not solve the problems but taking off the defaut "rename files" from tags fixed the download manager problem (at least I think that is what fixed it - works great now). I won't try a reinstall option unless something more annoying shows up.

I checked off the "rename files from tag" and the download manager worked OK after that. I don't plan to reinstall unless things don't work right after the next update.

Thanks
