If I click on a rating star to choose a song, I change its rating insted. One should be able to disallow clicking on rating stars, maybe allowing changes to rating only with a right click.

Not a good idea. Makes it slow to handle.
But I have to agree, it's like a tree near the road. You will hit it...

Or if you still want to see the column browse to the directory for the skin you are using within C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center\MegaSkins and rename the list_rating file.  Now you'll just see the numerical rating value within the column.

Well, the graphical rating star column is IMHO one of the greatest innovations in MC 9.1. I don't want to do without it, I just want to make it read-only.

Try moving it to an area of the screen where you are less likely to click it.  Definately not far right as this is too close to the scroll bar.  I have it second one in from the right to prevent accidental clicking.
