tagging issues: action window, tagging mode, inline editing
« on: December 12, 2003, 06:21:36 am »

Haven't seen this mentioned by anyone else, but I get an illegal operation and have to shutdown MC everytime I try to save changes when editing tags inline.

It appears that it is no longer possible to float and resize the action window. Is this a permanent change or just a temporary situation? For intensive sessions of tagging, I think the aw is easier than tagging mode, but the problem with the aw is that it is just too small and cramped. There really, really needs to be a way to resize it manually. The full-height properties pane is the one thing I still really miss from MC9.0.

I use tagging mode when I need to make quick edits to one or two fields. Personally, I preferred the new artist, new album, etc options at the top of the list rather than at the end.

Maybe there's a problem specific to Win9x.

Can anyone else reproduce the crash?

About Action Window changes I can't say for sure yet.  It's still a work in progress.

Thanks Matt. :)

I tried a clean install of todays beta and still get the inline editing crash.

Regarding a resizable action window, I only mentioned it because I find it hard to work with tags with the window being so small.  More and more lately, I find myself using other tagging programs (like tag & rename) to do the majority of my tagging work before I import files into my library so that I only have to do a very minimal amount of work with the tiny aw.
