Track Info Templates - How?
« on: December 07, 2003, 02:49:38 pm »

Hey all,

I am interested in starting to create some Track Info Templates. I looked at some of the default ones and tried to mimic how it was done.

What I did was go into FrontPage and created an HTML page. I input my tables and text, and used the "keyword" commands that were in the other page (INSERT_TRACKINFO_ARTIST, etc.). I saved it in a folder in the correct location (C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center\Visualizations\Track Info\Personal fodler).  But when I go into MC and try to use it, it says "unable to display selected Track Info Template."

What am I doing wrong?  I have a feeling it's some HTML-related things, and I am weak in HTML (hence the use of FrontPage). But I am willing to try.

I looked at the SDK and didn't see anything that would help me (from what I can understand, I did everything right, but I could *easily* be misunderstanding). I also searched the forums and didn't see anything like this.

Thanks,

crow

Look in that folder you created and make sure that the file you made is named index.html.

tylerctyler,

Thanks, I should have mentioned this in my first post, but I did that already.

Any more ideas?

Make sure your template is standalone and doesn't require any fancy Frontpage extensions or controls or anything like that. It really only needs to be one file, index.html, and any images you want to use should also be in the same folder.

I rechecked the file name, and it was "index.htm"

I renamed it to "index.html" (added the L) and it worked...

thanks and sorry for such a stupid question

Questions by nature are never stupid, their purpose serves those who seek answers, which is by definition the opposite of stupid. ;D
