Nomad Zen plugin: new playlist naming format?
« on: December 08, 2003, 11:22:32 pm »

I just did my first Zen synch after upgrading to 9.1.313. On my Zen, each playlist name is followed by the full "tree" path to the playlist, in parentheses, with each level of the tree separated by a dash. Is there any way to turn this off?

Yes, I can remove this addition. Others seem to dislike it as well. The reason it is there is because if you have multiple playlists in MC named for example "My favorite tracks" but they are nested in different Playlist Groups, there is not a way for a portable to distinguish between the two because there is not a unique name. This causes confusion.  What is it that you don't like about the parenthesis?

It's mostly an aesthetic thing for me. I put numbers in front of my playlists to control their sort order on the Zen, so my playlists end up looking like this:

1 - My Playlist    (1 - My Mixes-1 - My Playlist)

It's just ugly, I think. If other people like it, I say make it an option, like the Artist/Album Artist option. I can see the need for it, but I, personally, don't like it.
