Network Library problem... Please help.
« on: December 08, 2002, 05:22:51 am »

I used to be able to copy (RIP)  my CD’s to my network library drive ( I have a network drive share  \\LIVINGROOM\Music\)   using Ogg Vorbis or any of the other formats for that matter mp3, monkey etc…

Since my last upgrade to 8.0.393 now none of my machines (laptop running XP Pro, W2K, and  W2K Server) can now rip CD’s to this network drive. However they can play everything in network lib just fine.

What happens is it starts to RIP… I see the CD start to spin (reading) then nothing. When I look into task manager the Ogg Vobis Copy process is hung… (which I then terminate)

This is really a bummer as I have over 15 gigs of music in this library which I can play but now can no longer record to.
I am sure this is not a permissions thing as I can create directories, add files, delete files
directly from this drive share without problems.
Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks for you help

Not sure...

Do you feel brave enough to try Media Center 9?  It might fix it. (and if not, could be fixed in a day or two)

Thanks Paul.
