New Media Center Miraculously Fixed All My CDs
« on: February 13, 2004, 12:13:23 pm »

I've ripped over 500 CDs recently using secure and haven't had a single one at less than 100% accuracy, and it is very fast.

I hope this is just a case of awesome programming skills, based on MC development so far, I wouldn't be surprised, but based on the condition of my CDs, I doubt it.

I think there is a bug with secure ripping, but I hope I am wrong!

I've had several that MC just can't rip.  I had one song that MC said was still ripping for over 24 hours (I finally told it to quit, since it was obviously not working).

Other than those, they all say 100%.  Very nice, but doubtful.

The 100% figure means that MC did not do any re-reads of your CD's.  So it's telling you that your 500 CD's are all in excellent condition. Either that or it could be a bug and it's missing problems.  Don't know, as haven't ripped much lately. V9.1 was fine in secure mode.

Lower than 100% usually shows that re-reading is required. It isn't a bad thing per se.  If all CD's produced 100% quality there would be no point in using secure ripping

Since the new Action Window all rips are a 100%. And it is visible that there are re-reads. Also it normally showed if there was unreadable data.

When a CD is really damaged it ends the rip proces without a notice and when examining why it stopped, it states that there were hard errors on the disk.

Also I think that there sould be 2 quality indications:
1 - Amount of re-reads
2 - Amount of errors
