volume slider problem

Hello Guys,

The Volume slider does not move around again, although when I move the slider around visually nothing changes but the audio does decrease/increase.

I vaguely remember something to do with some weird sound blaster drivers.  Please correct me here if I am wrong.

i once had the reverse - i could move the audio slider around but the voilume didnt change. mine was to do with the sound card (audixgy), and ive never been able to repeat it...
