ENCODING LOCKS UP MJ WHEN RECORDING
« on: April 03, 2004, 09:58:41 pm »

I have MJ8. I am in the process of converting hundreds of audio tapes which have books on tape. I have been using the NORMALIZE BEFORE RECORDING FEATURE.
It has been locking up on me... it shows the tape recorded but does not finish encoding.... just sits there.

After playing around I am able to get it to work by keeping the artist name Album name short.

Is this a bug or is there a limit to the number of letters that can be used in these fields.

Thank you Tom Webb

Copy & paste your sys info from MJ>Help>System Info. Sounds like the data is coming in faster than MJ can normalize...causing the lockup. You could always uncheck the "Normalize before..." then use Media Editor (part of the MJ package) to normalize the completed wav.

Well...that kind of throws my idea out. Not aware of any limit though mp3 ID3v1 tags have a 30 char limit, but worst case is that they'd be truncated fields.
