press stop and mc9 exits

When I hit stop or ctrl-s while playing a song, mc9 just exits the program.

This occurs when I am connected to a Media Server (another machine on my network).  If I connect to Default and play files on the local machine, hitting the stop button or ctrl-s does not exit the program.

Diabling virus protection didn't help.  Running mc9 v9.1.913 on xp pro dell notebook.

Any idea how to correct this?
