Burst of sound
« on: April 20, 2004, 05:40:27 pm »

I get (and always have had) a horrible "static burst" when any of my older 128kbps MP3s start. Anything of a higher bitrate plays perfectly.

The "aggressive reset" switch (which filled me full of hope) makes no discernable difference.

Please don't tell me i have to re-rip all my old CDs - there are hundreds of them!

Try playback on wav out or direct sound.

Are the MP3's bad?  Do they play in other players?  Which ones.

Yep, does it for both these

They played fine in Winamp (all versions) and on my PJB100 and on my partner's Archos. So although old, i'm pretty certain they are OK.
