Cannot Find File w Drag/Drop (server)
« on: May 16, 2004, 12:12:17 pm »

When I try to drag and drop a file from MC10 to another program, I get a cannot find file error message.  This is because of the server prefix appearing in the filename column.  I am pointing the MC10 server for my music but want to also be able to drag a file from MC10 to a different program for other processing.

m01p://192.168.0.56:8088/Z:\Little Walter\1957-1959\One Of These Mornings.mp3

The prefix 'm01p://192.168.0.56:8088/' I think is what is causing other programs not to be able to find the song.

Media Server can't be used in that case.  It only streams files.  No files can be transferred.

One program I am using to transfer to tries to parse the filename and eventually gets to the drive letter part and pulls it in fine.  Another program doesn't like it at all.  So it is capable of working.

Hopefully MC10 can drop this m01p://192.168.0.56:8088/ prefix from their filename display or I have to write other program makers to try and get them to parse it properly.  It would be eaiser obviously if you did it up front.  What other purpose does that prefix serve?
