New Feature for Nomad plugin
« on: May 10, 2004, 09:13:42 am »

Hi all:
In the current release of the Nomad plugin for MC 10x, when you disconnect from the player MC does not really release control of the player. You have to shut down MC, make sure the player is turned off (or disconnected from system) and then return to MC.

Can the plugin be changed that a *true* disconnect occurs when selecting DISCONNECT PLAYER?

Thanks

Dennis,

Tonight's Nomad Plugin ( 9.0.49) will fully disconnect the Nomad when you select the 'Disconnect Nomad' with the right click option from the tree.  FYI, if you access the Nomad via the WMDM option (Tools->Options->Devices 'Enable WMDM Support') the detection of the disconnect and reconnect of Nomad occurs automatically.

Steve,
I think the same bug is in the iPod plugin. When I close MC, and 'disconnect on exit' is on, the iPod will be diconnected on the unit -- it shows the ok to disconnedt sign -- but the small 'disconnect hardware saftly' thingy is still in the taskbar.  It would be great if you could fix that one too.
  Thanks in advance,

Hi,
I installed the new version of the Nomad plugin but I still get the same behaviour. That is, with the nomad connected to the system, when MC starts up it connects to the nomad. Selecting disconnect player still does not perform a true disconnect from the player - I still have the connected icon on the player screen. Only when MC is shut down does it disconnect from the player. I thought this was due to the "portable drives" plugin being installed so I deleted that from MC and made sure that the WDM option is OFF in options.

No change in behaviour. I did recently upgrade the firmware on the nomad to the latest from creative - maybe that is the source of the problem?

Thanks, dennis

Hi,
I just noticed that even with the player turned off MC will attempt to access the unit which in turn powers it up and MC connects to it. Any thoughts on how to get MC to not connect? I've looked and verified that there are no auto connect options turned on - e.g. WDM support etc.

Dennis,

Do you have anything set in the tree to select the Nomad Jukebox item on startup?

Hi Steve,

No - not that I see that is. I have MC set to open in AUDIO LIB not expanded.
