If I d'click an mp3 file on my hard drive, mediajukebox will open up, add it to the library, and play the tune. lovely. Now I close mediajukebox, go do some other stuff, come across that mp3 file on my HD later on, remember it was crap and delete it.....
Suppose there were loads of 'em.....
Can mediajukebox scan the library, and remove entries that no longer have valid file paths?
I'm still trialling mediajukebox, and have to say I'm pretty impressed so far.
So far as I can tell, there is no bundled spyware. Am I right that the only time mediajukebox accesses the internet is for cd-lookups or to play streaming media? If playing streaming media, does it report what's being streamed to any 3rd parties? Or back to musicex?
I'm currently using v8.0.388. If I buy this, does this entitle me to free future upgrades? (I've read the help stuff on this question, and believe that it does, just the stuff about only "10 restores" or something clouded the issue for me)
You say that Windows Media Player must be installed for mediajukebox to work? Why? does it hijack some media player stuff for viewing video files? If so, does it do this without mediaplayers spyware intervening?
(I've got nowt to hide btw, honestly, just don't like being spied on
1 of the main reasons I'm willing to pay instead of using WMP)
I've also got Hauppauge's WinTV 2000 here, but couldn't get the TV option in mediajukebox to work. Maybe i missed summat obvious? Not a real biggie, as i can still use the Hauppauge software, but might be nice if it could work. Any ideas?
With 1000's of mp3 files, my main concerns with choosing a player (aside from the spyware, lol) were it's library capabilities. The best I've come across so far was Realone players. (Ditched btw, can you guess why
)
Now, coupled with the really excellent "move" & "dupe finder" plugins, I reckon mediajukebox is gonna give it a real run for its money on that score on my system.
If CDDB lookups are never going to work, why is it given as an option?
Seen some peeps having mp3 encoder probs in another thread. Mine didn't install either, but mediajukebox did go fetch it for me when I needed it, and it seems to be working OK so far.

The other thing I noticed, and liked, was the helpful nature of the guys in charge around here. Too many software publishers are too quick to look away when someone reports problems.
