MC versus Thumbsplus
« on: July 19, 2004, 02:39:00 am »

Hi

For years I have been using Thumbsplus to organise my graphics and documents (and I have got a lot of them!).
Recently, I've been moving the graphics over to MC for its organisational power and its working well. The only thing that's preventing me moving the documents over as well is that in MC I can't display .mht files or view all my documents as thumbnails rather than icons (which I need).
Is this something I can hope for in the near future?

Thanks.

Before this disappears off the page, any chance of a reply?

It's no big deal, I just want to know whether I'll be able to use MC for graphics and docs or just graphics.

Thanks.

MC11 has a documant handler....

But it doesn't display thumbnails (yet?).  I've asked a couple of times, but no response.  J River have talked about producing a new product, based on MC, that will be targetted at document handling - maybe we'll see something in that.  I've also suggested it should allow the user to define the file types to be handled, so that would allow .mht files as well.

We hope to provide this in a future build.

We'll try adding .mht to the list of supported file types in the next build of MC11.  It may work.

Thanks, I really hope you're able to manage both the mht and the thumbnails as I would then be able to use MC to organise everything I've got!

Cheers.
